The company was founded in 2011 as a place where we can research and share our concerns as a group.

Our language is the movement and the body our tool.

We use the name dance theater because we are in the limits of both, although the truth is that we are interested in any stage practice such as music and circus.

The collective creation is a seal that defines the company, in each one of our creation processes the members put their best artistic, personal and professional skills to carry out the project.

Another feature of Fil d'Arena is to try to bring dance to all types of audiences and get to connect with society. The company generates different projects of social dance like The Big Dance in 2016.

In 2011,  we premiered “Café Sol”, a performance with Cabaret-style being transported to the present day.

In 2014,  we premiered next to Quartet Cercle “La Consagración de la Primavera”, a new vision of the rite.

In 2015 we started the trilogy “SAL”, a work which approaches the issue of migration from different angles. The first piece was La Sal que ens partit, piece that alludes to the migration crisis in a global and timeless way. Production made with the support of the Valencian Institute of Culture IVC - Culturarts Theater and Dance.

In 2017 we released SALT, second piece of the trilogy that focuses directly on the European refugee crisis and the role of women in this process. This production is also been supported by the Valencian Institute of Culture IVC - Culturarts Theater and Dance, the City Hall of Valencia - Cultural Action and the Residences of Creation of the theater Carme Teatre.
